Launch of RSS Only Information Content
By Dewald Pretorius | September 29, 2007
Welcome! You’re reading the first post of the Earnings Force content that’s going out only on the RSS feed.
Let me give a short explanation of why I’m doing this.
The idea for this RSS feed only content stream was born from frustration. I got so frustrated with people begging and cajoling me to sign up for their email newsletters with pop-ups, slide-ins, and whatever else. I decided that I don’t want to do that to my readers. However, I still wanted a communication channel where I could communicate with readers, outside the normal postings on the blog.
That led me to the idea of integrating a value-add feed into the blog’s existing RSS feed.
For you, the reader, there are several benefits:
- Your email inbox is not cluttered with yet another newsletter.
- You can read the newsletter content in your RSS reader whenever you want. In other words, you are in total control.
- You don’t need to give me any personal information, not even an email address.
- It’s easy to find older entries and reread them because they are in the history of your RSS reader.
- If I write something that you like, you can blog about it and reference it in the normal manner. You can’t do that with an email.
An archive of all the “RSS only” content of the feed is always available at http://www.earningsforce.com/category/rssonly/.
