PLRPro Review
If you’re in the website building business, you’ve probably considered buying content or paying someone to write content for you. Content is King, and creating content takes not only creativity, it also takes a heck of a lot of time.
Private Label Rights (PLR) articles are one solution for getting content for your site. If you don’t know what PLR is, it’s generally articles that come with a license to allow you to use, modify, and publish them under your own name with no credit to the original author. PLR articles are most of the time sold to a limited number of people, but there are some that are available to anybody without limits.
The more people who have access to a particular PLR article, the less useful the article becomes. You can imagine how red in the face the Google spider becomes when it finds 2,000 copies of exactly the same article on different websites.
PLR articles are a great resource to initially seed your website with content.
The main problem with PLR articles is that the quality is generally crap. Many PLR articles are written by people who don’t have a strong command of the English language. Some PLR writers cheat and use software to generate different versions of articles, and some simply copy stuff from the web and flog it as PLR articles.
So, the two main issues with PLR articles are:
- Quality of the spelling, grammar, and article content, and
- The number of people that have access to a particular PLR article.
The main benefit of PLR articles is that it’s an easy and affordable way to get website content.
Let’s move along and look at PLRPro.
Brief History of PLRPro
PLRPro was founded in May 2006 by two Australians, Daniel Turner and Marc Lindsey. Daniel used to be a PPC consultant in Australia, and Marc was in the Australian Navy.
Before starting PLRPro they together built a number of niche websites that generated so much money that they were able to quit their day jobs.
In the process of building the websites, they realized that most content provider services were either utter crap, or were ridiculously expensive.
So they decided to start a service that provides quality PLR articles at an affordable price.
Today Daniel runs the business side of PLRPro, while Marc takes care of the technical and SEO side.
How Does PLRPro Work?
PLRPro divide their members into groups. Each group never has more than 200 concurrent members in it.
Each group (200 people max) gets 11 new article packs every single month.
Each article pack is written around one specific high-volume niche topic or keyword. For example, “water heaters,” “yeast infection,” and “rock climbing” are samples of the topic of an article pack.
Each article pack consists of the following:
- Forty (40) articles, each targeting a very specific keyword (”male yeast infection,” “rock climbing gear,” “gas water heaters”).
- Professional banner graphics for your website that fit the particular topic.
- A spreadsheet with companies that sell related products and that have an affiliate program.
- Two keyword spreadsheets. The one contains the top 40-60 keywords (that were targeted in the articles), and the other one contains all the keywords that were returned by WordTracker for the primary keyword. You use this second spreadsheet to modify the articles and target the long tail keywords.
- You also get the articles in MS Word format, plain text format, and HTML format.
- If that’s not enough, you also get those same articles translated into Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish!
Here’s a screenshot of the contents in one Zip’d article pack.

Now, take everything I’ve just listed, and multiply that by 11. That’s what you get every single month.
So, every month you get 440 articles (English), 3,520 foreign language articles, 11 WordTracker niche keyword lists, and 11 niche banner graphics.
And that’s just PLRPro’s base service.
You might be concerned that 199 other people would be getting the exact same articles that you get every month. Don’t worry. Statistics have shown that only 20% of the members of a group actually do something with the articles. Sounds weird that people would pay for articles and not use them, but those are the facts. And, there are only 2 to 3 people in every group who have the time and resources to use all 440 articles every month. So, your “competition” really is only between 2 to 40 people.
PLRPro’s Quality Control
In Q1 of 2007 PLRPro got some heat from its members over declining article quality. It was part of the growing pains of the company.
Daniel and Marc immediately flew into action like a hyper-active hummingbird on steroids, and spent a ton of money to put a massive quality control process in place.
Articles are now thoroughly checked and vetted by QA staff, before they are made available to the members.
I’ve included a sample article, so that you can see what they look like.
Will any of the PLRPro articles win a Pulitzer Prize? Absolutely not. But that’s not the purpose of PLR articles. They give you a base to work from.
What more do you get with PLRPro?
Free Hosting
PLRPro runs a suite of UNIX servers, and they give you a free hosting account on those servers for as long as you remain a paying member of PLRPro.
Free WordPress Blog Installation
PLRPro has a free web-based WordPress installation tool that not only installs WordPress for you, it also does 95% of the configuration, including custom WordPress themes and WordPress plugins.
It saves inexperienced folks a ton of time and headaches.
Discounts, Discounts, and More Discounts
When a new Internet Marketing, PPC, or related ebook or piece of software is released, Daniel and Marc negotiate a discount with those author(s) for PLRPro members. (Actually, that’s factually incorrect. Daniel negotiates the discount and Marc gives him a standing ovation for his negotiation skills.) We’re talking anything from 20% to 50% discount on most products.
No Sales Hype and No “Buy My or My Buddy’s Stuff” Nonsense
Daniel and Marc have a fundamental principle that they stick to religiously. They NEVER make any commissions on anything that PLRPro members buy.
That’s why they can negotiate so many awesome discounts for the members. They usually give, what they normally would have received as commissions, through to the PLRPro members as a discount.
Free Software
At the time of writing, they were giving their members free website builder software, and free WordPress articles uploading software.
In addition, everyone who has been with PLRPro for three months also gets WP Affiliate Pro for free.
Training
I could write an epistle about their free training. They have several free guides and videos on keyword research, search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) marketing, and general productivity.
Their two free flagship training products are the VRE (Virtual Real Estate) Handbook, and their 90 Day Challenge.
The VRE Handbook is a 180+ page step-by-step guide on exactly how to start, build, grow, and manage a niche website.
The 90 Day Challenge takes the VRE Handbook ten steps further. It is a very detailed plan on how to build around 12 niche sites over a period of 90 days.
Member Forums
PLRPRo runs very active member-only forums, where support is provided on a wide range of topics by fellow members and PLRPro staff. Daniel and Marc are also very active on the forums.
Get this. Every month, members in each group can vote for the article topics (niches) that they want to receive the following month. PLRPro take those votes and commission the writing of the following month’s articles accordingly.
Templates
Every month PLRPro also give their members free niche site templates that can be used with WordPress and XSitePro.
What’s the Downside?
PRLPro is run by two very energetic, hard-working, ambitious, and creative young guys.
Sometimes I think they overstretch themselves a little and try to do too many things at the same time. Sometimes things like new services (always free of charge) are promised, and those things don’t always materialize within the promised times.
It’s definitely not a train smash, because their core service, PLR articles, is the best of breed of all the PLR article services out there.
In Summary
For less than the cost of an uptown parking spot, you get:
- 440 English articles that are also translated into eight foreign languages.
- Keyword research and affiliate programs.
- Discounts and a ton of very useful and valuable free stuff.
- The ability to work with two of the most honest and upright guys in Internet Marketing that I’ve ever encountered.
Footnote: There are a few more extremely cool, powerful, and free things that PLRPro give to their members, but I know they wouldn’t want me to disclose them here. Some of them are SEO related…

Hi Robert,
I thought about it but I didn’t want to give people the impression that Marc and Daniel were slave drivers. Ha ha!

Could I use this for article marketing? Like post on article from a niche on a blog, then use the others and send them to like ezinearticles.com or something?

Noah,
Many people use PLR articles for blog posts.
For posting PLR articles to article directories, you’ll have the check the terms of service of the particular article directory. Some accept PLR articles while others don’t. I know ezinearticles.com is one that doesn’t accept PLR articles.
However, nothing stops you from using a PLR article as the inspiration for your own article that you write and then publish to the article directories.

Hi Dewald.
I really like your PLRPro review.
Very complete and gives lots of detail.
I’ve never written a product review; however, I am in the process of learning and I found this by hopping over from the forum. You are one of my mentors that is for sure.
Thanks Joaquin

Great review. I’ve been considering using PLRPro, because it was mentioned on a another blog and I wanted to see a review of it before trying it out. It’s a pity the articles are not unique for each member, that way there is no duplication of articles, however small.
Cheers
